As we get closer to Thanksgiving, Iāve been thinking a lot about how noisy and confusing the world feels right now. It seems like every day thereās something pulling us apart or trying to steal our attention. And in the middle of all that, itās easy to overlook the small, steady gifts that are still showing up for us.
But theyāre there ā and Iām grateful for every one of them.
Iām grateful for those quiet moments when the sky lights up in colors that feel almost unreal⦠the kind of sunrise or sunset that stops you in your tracks, especially when it stretches across our emerald Gulf waters. No painter or photographer can ever truly capture them, and maybe thatās the point. Some beauty is meant to be experienced, not perfected.
Iām grateful for the gentle surprise of a sea turtle surfacing, the easy glide of a manatee, or the rare sight of a whale drifting along our coast. Those little encounters remind us thatāeven with all the mystery and uncertaintyāthere is still wonder in this world, and everythingās going to be alright.
Iām grateful for those slow beach walks where the waves shimmer by day and sparkle by night⦠moments that calm the mind and settle the heart.
And Iām grateful for people ā for friends, for family, and for you. This small but growing community has become a bright spot I look forward to every day. Youāre the kind of people who still notice the magic tucked into ordinary moments⦠who still feel hope, curiosity, and the pull of the sea in your soul.
Most of us wonāt change the world in some dramatic way, but weāre learning to treasure the everyday miracles around us. And honestly, thereās something beautiful in that.
Thank you for being here, for sharing this space with me, and for choosing connection over division.
Wishing you a safe, peaceful, and truly happy Thanksgiving season. ~ James (Psalm 65:8)
