Effective 01/01/2024, SD Gunsmithing will no longer conduct retail sales or process Private Party transfers within the State of California. The State of California has imposed new (and draconian) audio and video recording and storage requirements effective 01/01/2024 that will make it financially infeasible for me to remain in the retail business.

SD Gunsmithing will remain in business for firearm repair, maintenance, and restoration. We will continue to perform firearm appraisals, as usual.

I deeply regret having to take this action as I have thoroughly enjoyed my 35+ years serving your special purchase and transfer needs. I hope that I can continue to meet your gunsmithing requirements in the future.

If this new requirement upsets you as much as it does me, please contact your legislative representatives and the Governor's office in Sacramento. Please continue to fight for your 2nd Amendment rights.

Is this how Marshall Law starts? It doesn't look as if any of the reported shootings were caused by permitted CCW holders. Does the Governor really think that criminals are going to follow her ridiculous orders?

New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has issued an emergency public health order that suspends the open and permitted concealed carry of fi****ms in Albuquerque for 30 days in the midst of a spate of gun violence.

Long time customer brought in this KAHR PM40 for cleaning. Also said he had a difficult time qualifying with it last time at the range.

Took it apart to clean and inspect and discovered the barrel has no rifling! Absolutely smooth. No wonder he had a tough time qualifying!

This one is going back to KAHR. Guess we'll see now how good their customer service and warranty is.

This old S&W 916 came in as a box of parts after someone else disassembled and painted it. Took a little awhile to figure out what I had and what was missing! Finally found all the missing pieces and put it back together. Still not my style, but it functions and the customer is happy. That's what it's all about.

Firearm owners lost a friend and advocate at the Reno Air Races last weekend. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Aaron on some projects years ago when the company was still located in Paso Robles. RIP Aaron. Condolences to the Hogue family and organization.
