The "Grand Finale" of the Tillandsia xerographica. 🌿
There is something deeply moving about witnessing a Xerographica in bloom. These air plants are slow-growers, and reaching maturity is a milestone that takes years of patience.
In nature, this is the final chapter of its life cycle. A Tillandsia blooms only once in its lifetime, directing all its remaining energy into this magnificent, vibrant inflorescence. But it’s not an end—it’s a transformation. As the mother plant gracefully declines after flowering, she invests her final strength into producing "pups"—the next generation that will carry her legacy forward.
Seeing this cycle in person is a rare treat. It’s a beautiful reminder of the resilience and intentionality found in the natural world.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for today’s terrarium-building workshop! Getting to create alongside you all was absolute magic.
Take a look at these stunning creations! From lush mosses and perfect pebble layers to gorgeous succulents and tropical foliage, everyone brought their own unique vision to life. Every single terrarium turned out absolutely beautiful—you all should be incredibly proud of your new living art pieces! 🪴✨

I realize I spend so much time sharing the living art, the custom builds, and the green beauties that fill my studio, but rarely step out from behind the camera myself!
As Growin Up Studios continues to evolve, I wanted to reintroduce myself to this amazing community. I’m the hands, heart, and occasional soil-covered mess behind everything you see here. My goal has always been to bring a piece of nature’s raw, sculptural beauty into your everyday spaces—whether through a custom moss wall, an architectural driftwood piece, or just the perfect, thriving houseplant.

Very grateful to everyone that signed up for our container gardening classes this semester!! If you missed your chance this time don't worry, next semester is right around the corner.

As an artist and business owner, I’ve always found that the things we can control—like our creative output or the environment we build for ourselves—are vital for our mental health. 🛠️🍃

For the first day of Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to share why 'Growin Up Torres' focuses so heavily on bringing nature indoors. When we care for a plant, we’re practicing a form of self-autonomy. We are deciding to nurture life, and in return, that life gives us a sense of purpose and calm.

Whether it's a single succulent on a desk or a full ecoscape, having a living, breathing piece of art in your view changes the energy of your day. 🪴

This summer, we’re swapping the gallery for the woods. Our World Book Day read list? Everything from field guides to advanced foraging manuals.

My goal is simple: teach the family to respectfully identify and harvest wild food, bridging the gap between our 'cultivated' work and the natural world that inspires it. 🥾🌱
