Pawnee Bill knew many celebrities because of his career. This 1939 photo shows Pawnee Bill with actor Fred Stone. They are posting in front of Pawnee Bill’s Packard Super Eight.

Jose Barrera was hired in 1897 to work for Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show. He was known as “Mexican Joe.” Many Wild West shows considered him the greatest trick roper in the world. Barrera also worked as a foreman at the Pawnee Bill Ranch, overseeing livestock and other agricultural activities. This photo from 1900 shows Barrera on horseback at a Wild West Show arena.

✨ A Little Bittersweet… But Also Exciting ✨

Many of you have heard by now that the retail side of Forgotten Oklahoma is closing, and we’ve officially moved everything to 40% OFF to help clear out the remaining inventory.

This little shop has been such a fun chapter for us. It started as a way to celebrate Oklahoma history and the community that grew around Forgotten Oklahoma, and I am so grateful to everyone who has walked through our doors, ordered online, or supported the store over the years. It truly means more than you know. ❤️

That said… sometimes you have to make room for the next chapter.

To simplify life a little and take something off my plate, I’ve decided to close the retail side of the store. But don’t worry — Forgotten Oklahoma isn’t going anywhere!

📍 Forgotten Oklahoma Headquarters is staying right where it is.

📍 The Pawnee Tag Agency is not closing.

And we’re actually excited about what’s coming next — my husband Ryan’s business, MK Roofing & Construction, will now have its central office inside our building, and I’ll be helping more with scheduling and paperwork there.

So while one chapter is ending, another one is beginning right here in the same place.

In the meantime… we still have a lot of great stuff left and we’d love for it to find new homes!

🔥 Everything is now 40% OFF

✔️ Discount is applied automatically online

✔️ Also 40% off in-store

You can shop online anytime here:

If you’ve ever had your eye on something — now is definitely the time. Thank you all for supporting our little Oklahoma adventure. It has meant the world to us. 🤎

The Oklahoma Historical Society and Oklahoma State Historic Preservation Office are pleased to announce the National Register of Historic Places designation for the following property in Oklahoma.

Garden Park Historic District (2126 E. 59th St., Tulsa, Tulsa County)

The Garden Park Historic District in Tulsa was developed and built in 1963 by Howard Grubb and designed by Tulsa architect Donald Honn. Garden Park represents a mid-century residential design strategy for luxury apartments that connect the indoors with the outdoors. Garden Park is significant under Criterion C as an excellent example of Mid-Century Modern architecture in Tulsa, with a period of significance from 1963 to 1974.

The National Register of Historic Places is our nation’s official list of properties significant in our past. Listing in the National Register of Historic Places is an honorific designation that provides recognition, limited protection, and, in some cases, financial incentives for these important properties.
