One table. A dozen toppings. No two pizzas alike. 🍕

Pizza night at our house is less about the pizza and more about putting everything on the table and letting everyone take over.

We started with individual balls of dough, then set out cheeses, cured meats, sausage, fresh vegetables, herbs and whatever else we could find in the refrigerator.

And, of course, plenty of Olivas de Oro.

Meyer Lemon Olive Oil. Red Chili Garlic Olive Oil. Mission Blend. Balsamics. Pesto. Caramelized Onion Jam.

Everyone built their own, and there was a little friendly competition for the best. But half the fun was seeing what everyone else came up with.

What’s for dinner? Sometimes the answer is already in the refrigerator.

This week I raided mine instead of heading to the store.

Leftover roasted vegetables became a frittata. Chicken thighs from the freezer went into the oven with peppers, onions, Mediterranean Herb Mix ’n Rub and Zesty Lemon Stuffed Olives. And a bag of coleslaw mix became a crunchy dinner salad with Sesame Ginger Grilling Sauce.

Nothing complicated. Just using what was already there — and a few good pantry staples to make it taste like something you actually wanted for dinner.

We pack olive oil when we travel.
Before every vacation, we tuck a few 60 ml bottles of our favorite olive oils and vinegars into our carry-on bags, add our favorite rubs and sea salts in snack-size bags, and we're ready to cook wherever we go.
This photo was taken at the Marriott in South Lake Tahoe. After a day on the lake, we skipped the restaurant, picked up a few fresh ingredients, fired up the grill, opened a bottle of wine, and made one of our favorite vacation memories.
