Rewind. It's January 2024. The trajectory of expenses to income is on a slight decline. Brainstorm. Enter: Hashtag Mom Life. This was to be our answer that allowed me to work from home while being mom--making a job out of what I'm passionate about. Though, being honest, it's definitely been a struggle turning Mom Life into a job. Because really, how does one do that? I was super excited about being an author and writing my books, but it certainly isn't a get-rich-quick method. In fact, it's been more of an expense than an income. I have printed shirts with Mom Life slogans for sale, printed puzzles, and I've added homemade candles to my collection. Again - more expenses with little income. I have Book 2 ready to print, but it's on hold - finances. On top of that, REAL mom life is consuming. It takes time and real devotion to teach principles of living, good attitudes, basic academics, and SO much more.
Real mom life is soaring while the business is lacking.
Fast forward: August 2025. The trajectory of expenses to income continues to decline. Brainstorm. Enter: really, really hard decision that "Hashtag Mom Life" needs to go. It's been a great idea in theory, however, it's the bite that was too big to swallow. I've realized on this journey, that owning an LLC is more than what it seems and it's not something you just suddenly have. Like all things, one must grow into it. Grow into management. Grow your business, making mistakes along the way and growing through those. And because of that, we are making the very difficult but necessary decision to dissolve Hashtag Mom Life, LLC and perhaps in time we can grow a new one.
In the meantime, dissolving the LLC isn't altogether the answer--just putting a plug in savings and eliminating the drain. I still need to try adding water to the tub.
The new effort in that direction is me offering a service as opposed to a product--services from just a mom doing mom life things that I do on a weekly basis already. Things like yard work and small landscaping projects are my specialty. But I can also offer photography and event planning. I can clean gutters, clean house, pet sit, grocery shop, and provide general labor around the house. Paint rooms, caulk windows, clean dishes and kitchens, clean bathrooms and garages, pull up carpet, power-wash driveways and houses, you name it! I quite literally have experience in ALL of these things and am happy to help you with your project!
We encourage our children to get out into the community, meet their neighbors, and present themselves willing and ready to work--to help others and in return build a little savings or have a little spending money. Well here I am, trying meet our family needs and set a good example for our little ones. I'm just your friendly neighborhood mom, out here living the mom life--and I'm on call!
