Some Testimonials from our customers:

Gordon did a high-quality job. He promised in two weeks and had it done within days. He was responsive and hand delivered my glove at a time and place that worked for me. Pricing was very reasonable and the glove is as good as new despite needing some extra attention. Highly recommend Gordon and A1 Glove.

After checking with 5 other glove repair shops - I found Gordon who was able to fix a very specific thing I needed done - ( remove plastic insert) from thumbs . He did a great job on my baseball glove while also having it conditioned and had it restrung. I play competitive armature wood bat baseball and sent Gordon 2 raw maple bats to be b***d to be ready for game play . These came out great ! And look excellent.
Easy communication from out of state !
I highly recommend checking in with Gordon on any baseball equipment needs !!

Testimonials from Our Website:
Contacted Gordon 2 weeks ago to restring my players first base glove. Need restrung after only 1 year of usage. He managed to get this accomplished for us at a reasonable price considering the the time. Vastly cheaper than buying a new glove. Upon receiving the glove back, I was highly impressed, strings were tight, and work looked great. Managed to get the color match which wasn't super critical for me. I've since reconditioned the glove to work in the new laces and soften up the glove a little more.
I will use your service again in the future and recommend to the rest of our team players, I know we have a few guys that need work done.
Very much appreciated, thank you for your hard work.

I brought this family several gloves, on more than one occasion--one being mine (Rawlings outfield) that I've had for almost 40 years, one being my sons (SS) Nakona, and our team catchers (Rawlings) mit that totally blew out at the seams.
No adjective can correctly describe the workmanship they do.
When someone does a job not because its a JOB, but because they genuinely love what they do, the end result is indescribable, PERFECTION i guess, MASTERY, the hyperbole can be endless to describe what you get when you return to pick up your glove. Old school American business morals with this family. I recommend them to ANYONE who will listen.

From another of our satisfied customers:

Over the past five years, I’ve brought more than ten gloves to Gordon for breaking in, restringing, or repairs, and every single time, he has done an exceptional job. His expertise in glove repair is unparalleled, and working with him is always a pleasure. Gordon not only delivers high-quality craftsmanship, but he also does so efficiently and at a very reasonable price.

What sets Gordon apart is his genuine care for every piece of equipment he handles. He welcomes any and all questions, ensuring that each glove gets the attention it deserves. His work is truly a lost art, and I never hesitate to trust him with even the most worn-out gloves. Time and again, he has taken gloves that seemed beyond saving and restored them to look and feel like they just came from the factory.

I’m incredibly grateful for the work he has done for the players on my teams over the years. Seeing the joy on my players faces when they get back a glove they thought was beyond repair—looking brand new—is something special. Gordon’s dedication and skill make all the difference, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

From another one of our customers.

Gordan is a master of his craft. Both my son's and my fielding, first baseman and catcher's gloves were in need of some attention; including some restringing. Gordon welcomed our business and made us feel valued as customers. His attention to detail is impressive, prompt turnaround and good communication made it a seamless transaction. We are most happy with the results and the gloves are in excellent condition once again to get the 2025 season started.

I would recommend A-1 Glove Repair to any of the Lakewood Rangers players, coaches, families and friends. We will definitely reach out to Gordon next time we need any 'glove work' completed. You can't go wrong. Thank you again for a wonderful experience.

From one of our customers:
Thank you for repairing and returning my Rawlings glove. Just in time for our tournament in Palm Springs next week. The glove looks great.

A quick story for you.

The glove you just sent back belonged to my best friend’s son. He wore it in high school and junior college. The son (Donny 43) just passed away last Friday from a heart attack. He was a Sonoma County Sheriff. After I break it in, I’ll give the glove back to his dad. He’d love to have it.

Again, thank you for repairing and returning the glove.

Thanks
Mike Allen

P.S. I may have sent you this before but attached is a picture of me and my younger son Chris. The picture was taken at a Father and Son Tournament at the Cubs training facility in Tempe. AZ. Two years later Chris was drafted by the Cubs. He hurt his arm after two years and is now married with a new baby girl. You call tell from the pants who’s the pitcher and who’s the catcher.

Testimonials from 2 of our recent customers:

The greatest error you can make is not giving A1 the chance to repair or restring your glove or mitt. He's the best. Fast. Affordable. And a great baseball guy to be around. Give him a chance, and he'll rework all your gloves.

I dropped off a glove my dad used decades ago as well as my son's catchers mitt. Both were in pretty rough shape. Both were full restored in short order and look fantastic. I really didn't think either glove could be brought "back to life" as it were. Boy, was I wrong. The cost for both these gloves to be repaired and reconditioned was much less than I was expecting. Dropping off the gloves was a joy. It was fun to sit and talk baseball with Gordon and it made my day. On an additional note, I had a heart attack while these gloves were being done. Gordon was nice enough to bring them to a location near my home. It made things much easier for me, I can't say enough good things!

Testamonials from some of our customers:

I have been shopping and looking for recommendations for my son’s baseball glove as you would’ve thought he’s been using it for the last 30 years. However he’s only been using this glove for 3 years and it looked terrible… I kept getting directed to A1 Glove Repair and I must say I was not disappointed… Gordon did a fantastic job and definitely brought the glove back to life… When we got the glove back, I was beyond amazed at the work he has done… Not only did he relace it, but he also restored it and it felt as if it needed to be broken in once again… When I gave it to my son, man was he excited! I would recommend A1 Glove Repair a million times over…. You can see the pride Gordon takes in his work. He is very professional and the communication between him and I were seamless… I will be taking my softball glove to A1 to get relaced and restored… Thank you again A1 Glove Repair!!!

My son was invited to play in the All Ripken Games in Myrtle Beach this past weekend (April 5-7). While practicing to get ready for this event he broke the lacing in his glove. Everyone we contacted said it would be 2-4 weeks to fix his glove. Mr. King was understanding on our situation. Mr. King laced 95% of his glove in 48hrs of me dropping it off to him. With out his services my son would have miss this opportunity. We recommend Mr. King for any glove repair services that you might need. My son’s team took 2nd place and was named one of the players of the tournament.

I was referred to Gordon by a friend of mine who had his son's glove relaced recently. He was quick to respond to my texts and was able to fit me into his busy schedule. We talked about baseball and he filled me in about some fun facts about gloves I didn't know. He was able to quickly turn around my son's infield glove and it looks like it is brand new for being four years old. I have some vintage youth gloves he is working on as well and I can't wait to see how those turn out!

Thank you sir and I look forward to working with you in the future on more glove projects!

I started using a new mitt that my parents bought me a few years ago, but I wanted to put a new web in my old mitt so that I would have it as a back-up. So, my mom dropped it off to Mr. King on Monday. She did not realize how much there was to know about buying a glove and also reconditioning a glove. She was really impressed with Mr. King and could not wait to get home to tell me about everything she had just learned. My Dad and I picked the mitt up on that Thursday and received the same education on gloves that my mom did. We were also impressed and extremely appreciative of Mr. King. My mitt turned out great and I will always reach out to Mr. King before ever purchasing another glove. It was a great experience!

Thank you Mr. King!

Took my current glove in to get the web relaced as well as my very old and worn high school glove for a full relace. I got my current one back 3 days later and I was very impressed with the final product. Not only was the web fixed, but the whole glove had been oiled and felt brand new. It even took me a few days to break it in. A couple weeks later I got the old glove, and I barely recognized it. For a glove with so many years on it, I couldn't believe the amount of work Gordon put into it to make it look so nice. It got new laces, completely oiled up, and he went so far as to replace some of the inside leather that had been tearing! I am extremely pleased with my experience and I am really excited for the new life I will get out of my gloves.

My dad brought my Wilson glove to Gordon to have it restrung because the strings came apart. I needed my glove back before Saturday so I could work out with Coach Juan. Gordon had it completely restored and rebuilt in 24 hours! The new strings look great and my glove looks brand new.

Thank you Gordon!

I was trying to find someone to recondition my ball gloves and searched high and low. I was getting ready to toss them in a box, but then I found A1 Glove Repair and Sales.

Gordon has reconditioned and restrung my Rawlings glove and my Dad's Nakona catchers mitt. I use them both all of the time. The special glove conditioner I get from A1 is incredible. It soaks right in and doesn't leave a film. Keeps the leather supple and helps keep the inside in great condition as well. The gloves still look great and are used all of the time.

Don't think twice to use A1 Glove Repair and Sales.

I am from Dayton OH and also had the pleasure to meet Gordon and his wife a few years ago. He has a passion for leather and for his customers!

Highly recommend Gordon for all glove repairs. A few years ago he relaced a few gloves and restored a 50 year old glove that was in bad shape. Now the laces on my sons catchers mitt broke in the middle of high school tryouts. I took the glove to him and he repaired it and had it back to us a day later. If we ever need any other repairs we will definitely use A1 glove repair.

From one of our customers My name is Dwier Brown and I am the actor who played "John Kinsella" in the movie Field of Dreams. I “have a catch” with Kevin Costner’s character, Ray (my son in the movie), at the end of the film. As a result of my performance in that movie, I have made appearances in hundreds of major and minor league ballparks, movie theaters and sports shows to promote my book "If You Build It…, a book about Fathers, Fate and Field of Dreams." To each event, I take my father’s 1930’s split-finger glove (endorsed by Johnny Moore), where I will let kids try it on and quite often “have a catch” with them for fun.

As a result of these events, my dad’s mitt (which was given to him by HIS father) has taken a lot of abuse, to the point where the inner glove was in tatters and was crispy and dry and difficult to get my hand into. I know I could have kept the mitt in a glass case at home to preserve it, but I wanted everyone to “meet” my dad (who died in 1988), and what better way than by putting their hands into a baseball glove that he had also worn? Because of this additional wear, I needed to have the mitt refurbished. But whom could I trust to do this delicate work? An internet search netted only two worthy glove restorers in the country; one in California and one in Ohio. I have lived in California for 40 years now, so the choice seemed obvious; however, I grew up in Northeastern Ohio and it seemed more fitting for my childhood glove to be restored in the place where my mitt and I had grown up together and where my father had made our home. Besides, two of my best college friends were from Parma.

This is how I first met Gordon King. He sounded kind and trust-worthy on the phone and so I sent him the glove with some trepidation in my heart. Well clearly, A1 Glove Repair was the perfect choice for the job! He returned my dad’s glove to me in beautiful condition! I had told him that I didn’t want it to look “too perfect.” I loved being able to see that my father had used this very glove. Taking it to events was my way of keeping my father with me, even though he has been gone for over 30 years.

The work was beautiful! He seamlessly replaced the destroyed portion of the inner glove and delicately restrung all of the lacing with new cowhide! He was kind enough to send me the original tattered leather interior so I could save the hide that my dad actually touched 90 years ago when he was a boy. What else can I say? I am excited that I chose Gordon (and his charming wife, Joyce!) to restore my father’s glove, and I am thrilled with his work!

Is this heaven? No, it’s A1 Glove Repair!

I highly recommend Gordon and his glove repair expertise. My son needed to break in a new catcher's mitt and add a wrist guard and we're very pleased with Gordon's work. Gordon is extremely knowledgeable about all-things gloves and glove repair. Plus, he's very personable and we enjoyed talking to him about baseball. His prices are reasonable, especially since he's the only person around this area who offers this service.

Thank you!

I was able to drop my son's glove off on a Monday and the Glove was ready on Tuesday. Gordan did a great job. The glove was like new when we got it back. I would not hesitate to recommend A1 Glove Repair to anyone.

I couldn’t be happier. Sent 2 gloves and had them back within a few weeks. Restored beyond expectations. One of the gloves was well over 30 years old that looks like new.

I contacted Gordon about revitalizing my Grandfather's old baseball glove. The glove had been sitting in a garage for 30+ years and was in ROUGH shape with very dry brittle leather and some lacing that had seen better days. I knew I would need help in bringing it back to life, if only to display for sentimental reasons.

After several hours of online research, I came across A1 glove repair and read some of the testimonials and articles. It was evident that Gordon and his company were passionate about doing a quality job. After I inquired about the possibility of having the glove repaired, Gordon was quick to respond and provided a wealth of information. Also, after sending the glove off to him, I really appreciated Gordon keeping me informed on the status as well.

A few days ago, I received the glove back and was stunned at how fantastic it looked. I wasn't sure how much A1 would be able to bring it back to life, but I have to say it looks fantastic. My Dad and I both thought it turned out great, and I would definitely recommend Gordon to others.

Many thanks to A1 on such a quality job!
