Joy Lyn's is a small confectionery factory located in Paradise, CA. The business was founded in 1969 by Don Memmer, a professionally trained candy maker. In 2000, Bill & Pam Hartley purchased Joy Lyn's and became the fourth owners of the business. Each owner has served as a tutor/mentor to the next, passing on and teaching recipes and techniques. The popularity of the business grew along with the
types of candies offered. Joy Lyn's Candies received international attention in the Manufacturing Confectionery magazine featured on their cover several times as well as winning numerous awards from RCI (Retail Confectioners International) for their Black Gold Truffles, Easter candies, Paradise Chocolate Fest Founders, Best New Piece, "W***y Nilly" and best overall presentation at the RCI International Conventions over the years. In October 2018, Pam & Bill proudly sold the business to their son, Glenn and his wife Jody on 10/10/2018. Almost a month later on Nov. 8, 2018 tragedy and devastation struct the the Town of Paradise when the deadliest fire in California's history destroyed 95% of the Town. Sadly, all of the Hartley's homes and candy shop were lost. Then on Oct. 1, 2020 a new chapter and version of Joy Lyn's Candies emerged as an existing building in Paradise was purchased and painstakingly renovated to begin the history of HEAVENLY CANDIES MADE IN PARADISE once again. Thank you for joining Joy Lyn's Candies in the resilience of the Hartley family and the Town of Paradise.
