I am sorry to announce that Ace Rentals will not be reopening. I have thought long and hard about this over the last year and am unable to justify rebuilding a business at this point in my life. Thank you to all of my customers for the years of support you have given me. Alan

Progress (if we can call it that) with the insurance folks is going slowly. The good news is that the property has been cleared for phase one hazards. I have asked for a bid from a local contractor to clear the debris for phase two. If you need rental equipment my phones are forwarded to All Star in Chico. They are the closest rental yard that keys on homeowners and small contractors like we do. I don't have phone service where my trailer is parked (in beautiful uptown Bangor). If you need to get in touch with me please send me a facebook message and I will try to call back by the next day.

I can't express my feelings about what has happened to our community, our homes, and our businesses. As most of you have probably seen in pictures, Ace Rentals is a burned out hulk. The back building at first glance looks like it survived but the inside burned. Most of the bigger equipment out front and on the fence lines survived but we can't get to it.

I have had our phones forwarded to All Star Rents in Chico. They are nice folks and a homeowner/contractor yard like we are. If you have any needs please contact them. They don't have any access to what used to be our computers. Sorry. I had a backup at my house but that burned also. Our software provider is working to rebuild the database with our online backup provider. They may have some information for me today but once they do they will need to send me hardware (a dongle???) to acess it.

All of the staff got out safely and are scattered around the area. I am in a spot with no cell service but, if you need to contact me, I have internet. My personal e-mail is [email protected]. Yup, I'm a dinosaur (but you all knew that) and I graduated from CSU Long Beach. I apologize if I don't get back to you right away. As many of you know i am also the school board president (my term ends in a few weeks) and I am getting a few hundred e-mails a day. If you put Ace Rentals in the subject line that would help. (good suggestion Denise)

My insurance agent is on vacation and I'm trying not to bug him too much. He is back on Monday and at that point we will start with a rebuilding plan. I figure there is no rush since it looks like months before we can get on site. I have started looking into hazardous cleanup training so I can get the site cleaned faster.

I figure if you are reading this you are out and safe. My thoughts are with you and everyone in our community.

We know from pictures that the main building burned. It looks like a lot of the equipment out front survived. Once we can get back into town and get a look at what is still there we will come up with a plan.

Comcast voice has been down almost all day today (June 6th). Sorry we aren't getting phone calls.

Ace Rentals will be closing at 3:00 this Saturday (February 17th) so we can attend a memorial service. Anything due back after three will roll over to Sunday morning. If you need to pick up anything Saturday afternoon please try to be here by two or so. Thank you.
