We have an incredible group of staff and ambassadors as part of our Sarpy County Bicycles family.

Everyone, please say a big HELLO to one of our amazing ambassadors, Katie Odinas!

Katie is an integral part of the Sarpy County Bicycles family. She helps lead our group rides, assists with shop events, and coaches alongside me in our Mountain Bike Fundamentals Course. She is also a certified mountain bike skills instructor and serves as a Head Coach with the local DEVO program, where she helps young riders develop their skills, confidence, and love for mountain biking.

Katie has spent years exploring our local mountain bike and paved trail systems and has completed multiple Gravel Worlds events on her gravel bike. Her riding adventures have also taken her to some incredible destinations, including numerous trips to Bentonville, Arkansas, and most recently Howler Bike Park in Missouri.

What really sets Katie apart is her enthusiasm for cycling and her passion for helping others. Whether she's coaching kids, encouraging adults who are new to the sport, or simply joining a group ride, she brings a positive attitude that makes everyone feel welcome. Her favorite part of cycling is being involved in our local cycling community and encouraging others to discover how much fun riding can be.

When she's not on one of her bikes, Katie enjoys spending time with friends and family, hanging out with her dogs, and tackling projects in the yard.

📢 **Quick Announcement!**

Sarpy County Bicycles will be **closed on Saturday, June 27th**, as we'll be participating in **Cone Park Trail Fest** in Sioux City, Iowa!

This annual festival is a celebration of mountain biking and the riding community, and it's always a great time. Whether you're new to the trails or an experienced rider, there's something for everyone:

🚵 Mountain bike trails for all skill levels
🚲 Pump track
🤘 Slope style course
🚡 Free carpet lift to the top of the hill all day
🎵 Live music
🌮 Food trucks

The festival runs from **10:00 AM to 4:00 PM**, and we'd love to see some familiar faces out there! If you're looking for a fun day on the bike with family and friends, this is a fantastic event to check out.

🚴‍♀️ CALLING ALL LOCAL TEAMS AND CLUBS! 🚴‍♂️

We would love to show our support for the local cycling community by displaying team and club jerseys on the wall in our shop. If your team or club would like to be represented, simply drop off a jersey and we'll provide the display frame. Our goal is to create a wall that celebrates the people, teams, and organizations that make our cycling community so special.

The first jersey displayed holds a very special meaning to me. It belonged to my good friend, Dean, who passed away about seven years ago. We raced BMX together and it wasn't until after he was gone that I truly realized how much of an influence he had on my life. This is the jersey Dean wore the last time we raced together. It is also the jersey I wore as a pallbearer at his service. Because of what he meant to me, I wanted his jersey to be the centerpiece of the wall and a reminder of the friendships and connections that cycling creates.

The first three jerseys on the wall represent the teams and organizations that I am proud to be a part of. I serve as the coach and manager of the BMX Racing Team. Since 2019, we have received incredible support from , helping our riders grow both on and off the track. I am also a coach with , a program dedicated to developing youth mountain bike skills and helping young riders build confidence on the trails. In addition, I coach in the high school mountain bike racing league, where I have the privilege of working with student-athletes as they develop their skills, compete, and discover a lifelong passion for cycling.

These organizations have played a significant role in my cycling journey, and I am honored to have their jerseys displayed as part of our wall celebrating the people, teams, and programs that make our cycling community so special.

We look forward to filling the wall with jerseys that tell the stories of the amazing people and groups that make up our local cycling community.

We would like to give a big shout-out to our mechanic, Gregg!

Gregg is always putting in the miles, whether he's riding here in the Omaha area or exploring the roads around his family home in South Dakota. If the weather isn't cooperating during the cycling season—or when winter arrives—you'll still find him getting his rides in on the rollers indoors.

With more than 30 years of experience as a bicycle mechanic in the local cycling industry, Gregg brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise to our shop. We are incredibly fortunate to have him as part of the Sarpy County Bicycles team and are excited to have his experience available whenever our riders need it.

Be sure to say hello to Gregg the next time you stop by the shop!
