Just to clarify and clear up any confusion as there seems to be a misunderstanding regarding consumer grade fireworks and the permit that is required for purchasing and transporting them:

This permit makes it legal for a person to purchase and transport any fireworks that are not classified as “safe and sane.”

“Safe and sane” fireworks include sparklers, smoke items, and fountains. Anything outside of that category requires this permit to be legally issued and possessed.

The cost of the permit and the approved shoot date are determined by individual municipalities, not by the business.

This is not something new — this law (Statute 167.10) originated in 1997.
