Carpet is a great solution to warm up spaces like basements, media rooms, playrooms + bedrooms. Carpet adds fabulous acoustical value and will help absorb sound in a large room or space prone to echoing! A few things to consider:

Pro-Tip #1: Underpad! -- under WHAT? While it's something you wont see, it's definitely something that you will feel. Installing a good quality underlay not only makes your carpet softer underfoot it will also increase thermal insulation + provide noise reduction!

Pro-Tip #2: Similar to installing hardwood, it's likely that your baseboard may need to be removed if there is a significant change in height between the new material and previous material on the floor.

Pro-Tip #3: Not all carpet is made the same! The carpet samples provided by Palette Archives are all made of wool. While wood does tend to be more expansive than synthetic carpet, wool is naturally stain + soil-resistant, cleans better + makes for a great solution for homes with pets + kids.
