Pretty Pickett Fence

Hey there friends, Krista here :) Don't you want to know how Pretty Pickett Fence began?! Well, here's how I shared with my family & friends... and now, YOU! I've been a 'crafty' girl all my life (Mum & Nana, I'm sure you can both attest to the many craft messes I've made in your homes). Craft hobbies often come and go but one that has stuck with me over the years has been my love for creating handmade stamped cards! It seems that no matter what else is going on in my life, I spend hours of my spare time stamping. For the last year, I’ve been a part of a stamping club that gets together monthly to learn new techniques while bringing women together to fellowship. It’s truly rekindled my deep love for creating cards – and the handwritten notes that follow. I’ve been making a weekly effort to send out a card to someone in my life who could use a little encouragement; and sometimes, just because! It’s only been in the last few months that I’ve started to DREAM of using my hobby as a ministry in my own community. At first, I wasn’t sure how it could be possible. That is, until I remembered the years when Mum & I sent out cards to shut-ins and those in need of encouragement at our church. This beautiful memory of creating cards together and sending them to someone who could use words of hope is what spurred my desire to begin this side venture in my ‘spare time’ (who has spare time, anyway?). There are two parts to my pursuit: 1. A Card Ministry at my church. We are still working out the logistical details of the ministry but we've already completed our first project (150 beautiful cards for the ladies on Mother's Day!). I’m so excited to see who God brings along to work with me! We are starting out with 6-8 women working together and the growth potential is huge! 2. A shop for cards I personally make. I have opened my etsy shop where I will sell my handmade cards and a portion of the sales will go to help fund the ministry at my church. The shop allows others to enjoy sending happy mail from the heart! So, How can you be a part? PRAY for both the ministry and the shop!
