SUBJECT: TACTICAL (Tacti-cool!) GEAR PART 2
Alright, we're back and her we go!
If you haven't read PART 1, I highly suggest you go back and read it just to be on the same page.
In the last post I was discussing my personal "levels" of gear, and their relevant points.
I would like to add my opinions and points.
The first point is, the overwhelming "gun-tuber" channels pushing all the "tacti-cool" gear. I get tickled when i see these guys with THOUSANDS of dollars of High end, brand named gear, and discussing why you need it, have to have it, and if you don't have brand ......., your kit is s**t, and you're going to immediately die because of it.
Most people do not realize these guys only have all that high end expensive gear because people like and subscribe to their channel! They get monetization from all the viewers, hence the money they get is "free" to spend on all of it! Imagine you getting free money just to buy gear, or ammo, or whatever.
Chances are these guys have no real training and experience. They "look" like they do on video, but in the real life situations.........they're going to be a walking supply store for guys that really are trained and have real combat experience!
So enough of that rant.
Back to the real points.
As stated in the other post, point #3 to be exact, it is very likely and probable that when / if SHTF you won't have that expensive kit with you, you'll be away from you home where it is hanging, and there you are, fu**ed!
What can you do?
I used the military and LE as examples, because they are already in their gear, all the time. Realistically speaking you and I can't be running around with plate carriers, Helmets, NVGs, etc, on because most people would freak out when they see you!
When you aren't at your home, where the majority of your kit is, your options become very limited.
The secondary place is your vehicle!
Your vehicle, depending on the type and style can carry your kit.
CARS:
Cars have trunks. They are sealed and locked. And most people have no clue to the contents in the trunk.
TRUCKS:
Trucks are limited on space. If you have a crew cab, or even a camper shell then the options get way better. I know a few guys here that have the "decked" system in their beds. Those are very cool, and can be expensive. They offer storage, and security!
SUVS:
SUVs are the best of both worlds, kind of a car / kind of a truck.
But the ability to carry more is available.
The big thing about Trucks and SUVs is the ability to conceal your gear, so passers-by can't see what's inside.......and take it.
Oh, and since I'm talking about vehicles; TAKE THE FU***NG GUN / GEAR STICKERS OFF OF YOUR VEHICLES!

Anyone with a few brain cells can see and understand that a G***K, SIG, MAGPUL, ETC sticker on a vehicle identifies this vehicle as a potential for having fi****ms, gear related items inside!
I can tell you for facts, IF SHTF and I'm attempting to get to my stash / vehicle / home, and I see a vehicle with those types of stickers on it, it is going to get broken into very quickly! I'm going to "Strategically Transfer Equipment to an Alternate Location" aka STEAL it, on order to maintain my safety!
