Ok everyone! The final window has been installed and the Chapel is now complete! Hope you enjoyed seeing the step by step creation of the stunning art glass windows for Cor Jesu Academy’s new Chapel. Congratulations to the Academy. They were absolutely wonderful to work with. A special thank you to Sister Susan Ann Marie Krupp for giving the amazing opportunity. God Bless☦️

This past weekend we took a couple of days to recharge. Always nice to make a slight detour to visit a church we made windows for in the past. We stopped in Brookville, MO and visited Immaculate Conception Catholic Church who we made windows for 15 years ago. Sister Mary was so kind to let us in the church to revisit them. They still look as beautiful today as they did when we made them. The eight side windows (4 on each side) are the windows we made that tell the story of Jesus through his life. All the windows were hand painted by Jerry Mowery which took awhile to do. As you can see they were good size windows. Greg Mowery and team made the windows once the painted portions were done. I snapped some pictures to share with all of you. I hope you enjoy them. Thank you for following!

Now the hard part! We have already drawn out the pattern pieces for the windows. Then we had each hand cut-out each piece to make a template for the piece of glass we need to cut. Look close….each pattern piece represents another hand cut piece of glass. Hundred of pieces here. Each piece also has to follow the color pattern in the design. It actually looks like a giant art glass puzzle! Don’t open a window or turn on a fan during this process!

Many meetings were held to review all the designs submitted from many talented art glass companies. The decision was made and we were awarded the job. Our team was so happy to be part of this wonderful creation and got right to work. Once ground broke on the new Chapel, work began on making a very special window. This 7’x7’ art glass window was a hand painted portrait of Mother Clelia.

The school did a lot of research to ensure every thing was perfect. In fact at one point the job was put on hold while necesary building design changes were being made. Then in April, 2023 we were notified that the project was moving forward again. This time the proposal was to actually make all the art glass windows for the new Chapel. Now things were getting really exciting! We needed to submit our drawing boards and proposal.
