ARTIST PROFILE: Bethany Morris

A Little About the Artist:
Bethany Morris is a watercolor and folk artist from Pachuta, Mississippi, whose work celebrates color, storytelling, and the charm of the natural world. A graduate student at Southern Miss, she draws inspiration from patterns and textures found in nature, paired with a love of bright, saturated color.

🌱 The Question:
If nature gave you a random “art supply” as a gift…what do you hope it is and what are you making with it?

Her Answer:
“I’d hope for something magical—like tangible wind—to move watercolor pigments across the page. I’d create a series based on the seasons: soft, gentle movement for spring, bold gusts for summer, steady earthy tones for fall, and a quiet, frosted stillness for winter.”

What to Expect:
Find Bethany near the Wallaby Walkabout, where her work brings color, movement, and a touch of magic inspired by the natural world.

back from my creative hiatus since starting grad school to share that my work is part of the spring exhibition at Nuestro Arte

FIRST tiny mural for jennifer ❤️‍🔥🕊️

painted on her kitchen cabinet, visible from the sunroom of her latin art–filled home. inspired by the goldfish pond and palmettos outside her window, her cats, blueberries from a favorite tea towel, and a sacred heart that holds special meaning for her as an episcopalian priest.

i originally planned white birds, but changed them to periwinkle to match her kitchen walls—later finding out bluebirds are deeply meaningful to her. so glad i trusted my gut!
