As part of its celebration for the upcoming exhibition Resilience: Art of the Channel Islands, the Channel Islands Maritime Museum has released a custom candle to celebrate these unique islands.

Featuring the beautiful Channel Islands artwork of Jody Hewgill and named Channel Islands Breeze, the candle was created in collaboration with local candle crafting business Matte Black Candle Co. Using a coco soy wax, a new wild sage scent was also created for this unique candle.

Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the sale of the candle will be donated to the Friends of the Island Fox organization. Friends of the Island Fox is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports efforts to preserve and protect the island fox on the California Channel Islands through conservation, research, and education programs.

The candles are available exclusively through BlueFin Gifts, the Museum gift shop. Each candle retails for $25.00 and comes in a black glass jar with a lid.

We are happy to announce the arrival of Shore Buddies at BlueFin Gifts! These soft and cuddly critters are the cutest!

Shore Buddies are stuffed animals made from recycled plastic bottles. The bottles are collected and sorted by recyclable collectors. At the factory, those bottles get cleaned and shredded into plastic flakes. Some of these flakes are used for the Shore Buddies' stuffing, others get melted and turned into polyester yarn for the soft outside.

These triple-scented, wood wick candles are made with an untreated cedar wood wick (from US sustainable forests), 100% soy wax and contain no dyes or stearic acid. All scents are a fragrance and essential oil blend and always phthalate-free.

The fragrance from these candles is amazing!
