As Alumni Weekend and Oxford's 250th Anniversary celebration come to a close, we're reminded just how fortunate we are to call this community home.

This weekend wasn't just about celebrating 250 years of history—it was about celebrating the people who continue to make Oxford such a special place.

Congratulations once again to our Hall of Distinction honorees, thank you to the volunteers, organizers, businesses, service organizations, and countless community members who worked so hard to make this weekend such a success.

This weekend is one for the history books!
As Oxford celebrates 250 years of American history, we're also welcoming home generations of Oxford Academy alumni, honoring outstanding members of our community at the 2026 Hall of Distinction, and celebrating everything that makes our hometown so special.

From historical exhibits and open houses to the Farmers Market, classic cars, the Kids' Carnival, local businesses, live music, fireworks, and so much more...there truly is something for everyone this weekend!

🇺🇸❤️ Small-town weekends just have a way of bringing people together.

This Saturday is one of those special days when there's something for everyone in our corner of Chenango County.

🌽 Stroll through the Oxford Farmers Market, where you'll find fresh vegetables, sweet treats, beautiful flowers, handcrafted gifts, and neighbors catching up with one another. There's something special about buying directly from the people who grew it, baked it, or made it with their own hands.

🏀 And just a few miles down the road, the streets of Norwich will be buzzing with excitement as the annual Gus Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament tips off. For so many local families, it's more than just basketball—it's a summer tradition. Whether you're playing, coaching, volunteering, or simply cheering from the sidelines, we hope all of our local athletes have an amazing weekend. Play hard, have fun, and make some memories!

Weekends like these remind us that small towns aren't just places on a map—they're communities built on hardworking people, local businesses, volunteers, farmers, coaches, families, and friends who show up for one another.

Today, as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we’re reminded how lucky we are to call this country home — and how especially blessed we are to be part of a small town like Oxford.

There’s something special about a community where neighbors look out for one another, families gather for parades and cookouts, flags fly proudly from front porches, and familiar faces still greet each other by name.

On this Independence Day, we are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy, the generations who helped build this country, and the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed to protect it.
