So the track is finally nearly done and ready for some great racing action. I have also settled on a name for it. It's going to be the Freedom Kart Speedway and now has it's own page. So if you want to keep up on the racing action head on over to Freedom Kart Speedway on Facebook and see all the latest information.

Some of us are headed to the Rolla Speedway Sprint Kart Series this Friday night with our Rage Karts as well as the new Outlaw Kart that I bought. Come on out and check out the action.

We will be racing on 6/28 at The Freedom Kart Speedway and we will have a great fireworks show after the races. My place is one of the best places to watch the show.

On another note, I’ll be doing some beta testing for Trackmate. They have a timing and scoring system that is made for RC cars that we are going to see if it can be adapted to work for go karts. I’ll post more about it once I receive the test equipment.

Unfortunately we’re not going to get to race this weekend. It was a great plan, but the rain we have had this week has prevented getting the track ready.

As long as it’s not like soup I will continue to work on the track this week and hopefully have it ready for next Saturday.

Work still continues on the Freedom Speedway. The rumble strip stones still need to be set down into the ground so don’t go all WTF on me.

The track surface still needs a little work. I talked with a guy that maintains a dirt track for a living and he gave me some great info. Things I had no idea about and would have never thought of on my own so here we go. Were going to try what he told me to do and see what happens. Then start on the final grading.

I’m going to try my best to get the light posts up in time, but I can’t guarantee that I’ll get them up.

Racing is better with organization and management and that means a scoring system that keeps track of drivers, laps, times, finishes, and championship standings. The cheapest system I can find is still $600.00 and I just don’t have the money for it at this point. All my money has been being spent on the track and karts and spare parts for them. Can’t race at all without them.

So if you know of a business that would be interested please share with them. Even an individual that might help out. Heck even small donations would make a huge difference in making it happen.
