We provide 3D printing services utilizing the Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printing method--sometimes referred to as Plastic Jet Printing (PJP). You may be wondering: "What can be 3D printed?" or "How do I actually get my part / idea 3D printed?"
The first question above is most easily answered by going to the website www.thingiverse.com and browsing "Things" available there. Thingiverse
contains thousands of designs, called 3D models or "Things," all of which are created for 3D printing and most of which we can 3D print in-house here at Custom3DCreations. If you see something you like on Thingiverse, just email us a link to the Thingiverse page containing your desired part at [email protected] and we'll give you a price to make it*. To answer the second question above, we really need to split the question into two categories:
Scenario 1: You have a 3D model of a part, but need a part physically created (3D printed). Scenario 2: You do not yet have a 3D model of your idea--it is just an idea at this stage. If your situation falls into Scenario 1, you simply need to email your part file to [email protected]. We can handle most 3D model file types such as, but not limited to: *.3dm, *.dwg, *.dxf, *.iges, *.obj, *.sldprt, *.step, *.stl, *.x_t. For a complete list of file types see: Solidworks 2015 Supported File Types. If your model file is not listed here, go ahead and contact us with your file type. We would like to gain support for as many file types as possible, so we may be able to add this file type to our list. If your situation falls into Scenario 2, go ahead and contact us at [email protected], message us at our page, or call us at (270) 852-2540. We have expert 3D software designers that will work with you to flesh out your idea, keeping 3D printing in mind throughout the process in order to arrive at a 3D model that both brings your idea to life and is optimized for efficient and cost effective 3D printing.**
*Some of the items available on Thingiverse are depictions of copyrighted materials (such as figurines of Star Wars characters) or patented items. Custom 3D Creations will not print items copyrighted or patented. When you send us a request to make a 3D printed part, you assume responsibility for owning the rights to the requested part, or that the part is licensed for anyone to 3D print: Many designs on Thingiverse are created by users who have distributed rights to the public so anyone can 3D print their design, which gives us the freedom to 3D print these "Things" for you.
**Design services are an added cost on top of the cost of 3D printing your part.
