Mornings feel rushed when the thinking hasn’t been done yet. Planning the night before gives you a clear place to begin, so you’re not catching up from the start. It’s a calmer way to step into your day. Give it a try! This afternoon, plan your tomorrow.
1. First, take a minute to celebrate the wins of the day. Write them down.
2. Then, look at tomorrow's schedule. Write down everything that already has a time assigned to it-- your meetings and appointments. Those are your anchors.
3. You can then look at your list of priorities for tomorrow and plug in your top three needle movers-- consider your energy levels and schedule deep work when you're most focused and schedule light work or errands when you might be otherwise fading. Efficient use of your energy helps you tackle the daily challenges at your most productive times.
Ok, so you've got your Anchors, your Priorities and you've scheduled it with your Flow of energy. Now you've given your brain a heads up for tomorrow. You'll know what you need to wear tomorrow AND you can even write down what you plan to make for dinner (do you need to thaw meat for that?). 5 minutes of prep the night before can save you an hour of foggy scrambling in the morning.
