Memorial Day is so much more than a day to find great savings!!!

The true meaning of Memorial Day is to honor and remember the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who died in service to their country. It’s a solemn day of reflection, not just a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer.

Originally known as Decoration Day, it began after the Civil War to honor Union soldiers who had fallen in battle. Over time, it expanded to commemorate all American military personnel who died in all wars.

While traditions like parades, flag ceremonies, and cemetery visits are common, the core of Memorial Day is about gratitude and remembrance recognizing the sacrifices made for our freedoms, and making time to reflect on the cost of war and the lives lost.

At 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, there’s a National Moment of Remembrance, a minute of silence to pause and honor those who gave their lives.
