Every year we take a trip out west for the annual Elk Fest that the Boy Scouts host in Jackson,Wyoming.

Elk Fest is a full weekend of activities built around the thousands of elk wintering on the National Elk Refuge and shed their antlers every spring. It is a Jackson Hole tradition to gather the antlers and celebrate the change of season with Elk Fest. 🦌
Over 20,000 # of naturally shed elk antler are sold here every year during the event! Not only is the amount of antler that is moved through this area in such a short amount of time outstanding, but the views are breathtaking too! One of our favorite places to visit!

😍 Aren’t these beautiful?! We have only one of each style currently of these hand tooled and cowhide sandals and slip on shoes! All three are size 9. HOWEVER, they do run small, so these fit like an 8 instead of 9 in Womens.

Also…. 😳 beavers secrete a goo that smells like vanilla.

In fact, it’s sometimes used in vanilla flavorings. Castoreum is a chemical compound that mostly comes from a beaver’s castor sacs, which are located under the tail. It is secreted as a brown slime that's about the consistency of molasses and smells like musky vanilla. It’s an FDA-approved natural flavoring. 🫢

Spring cleaning comes with spring decorating and now is the time to come in a snag that perfect cowhide rug that you've always wanted! Don't worry ladies, your husband called us and said you could totally buy one for yourself! 😉 Not only do they look amazing as rugs, these look amazing hung up on the wall also! These jumbo cowhides are roughly 6x7 to 7x8 😱

We have a variety of colors from rainbow acid wash, brindle, turquoise acid wash all the way to the classic tri-colored brown/white/black combo 🐮🐄 Plus many other colors and patterns!

Not only are cowhide rugs a popular decorating choice for their good looks but also because they are highly durable and so easy to maintain. Additionally, cowhide rugs are naturally resistant to stains making them a great choice for high traffic areas! It may even surprise you on how easy they are to take care of! They can be shaken, brushed and even vacuumed to remove dirt and debris. Important to note, while vacuuming, use suction only, never an attachment with rotating or be**er brushes as this can tear the hair out of the rug's backing causing bald spots.
When it comes to removing stains from food or drink spills or tracked in mud, cowhides don't require much due to their natural stain resistant properties. Oftentimes, stains can be removed with just water. For set in stains, a small amount of baby shampoo is typically all it takes to remove the offending substance. Easy as that!

🦝🦝At the time, raccoon meat wasn't an uncommon sight on dinner tables in America, but once Calvin Coolidge met the live critter, he decided he was more interested in adopting her rather then having her for Thanksgiving supper! Coolidge named the raccoon "Rebecca" and received an engraved collar for Christmas. She took part in the annual Easter Egg Roll and was frequently spotted accompanying the president on walks around the White House grounds.
Coolidge also had a pet bobcat, a goose, a donkey, two lion cubs, an antelope and a wallaby, so Rebecca fit right in!🦝🦝

🦌Reindeer and caribou are the same animal and are a member of the deer family. In Europe, they are called reindeer. In North America, the animals are called caribou if they are wild and reindeer if they are domesticated
🦌Both male and female reindeer grow antlers, while in most other deer species, only the males have antlers.
🦌Unlike horns which are never shed, antlers fall off and grow back larger each year. Male reindeer begin to grow antlers in February and female reindeer in May. Both genders finish growing their antlers at the same time but shed them at different times of the year. Males drop their antlers in November, leaving them without antlers until the following spring, while females keep their antlers through the winter until their calves are born in May.
🦌Reindeer are the only deer species to be widely domesticated. They are used as draft animals to pull heavy loads and farmed for their milk, meat, and hides
