Ladies Night Out is Friday, April 24 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm. Ladies Night is a shopping crawl focused on exploring the retail, dining and service businesses that power our downtown. You start the event by picking up your paper passport or accessing a virtual passport. You visit at least 12 of the 21 participating businesses and collect passport stamps to earn entry into our prize drawings. Many of our business partners are offering special discounts, samples, door prizes and drawings of their own! The best value is to visit every business on the passport.
Passports can be picked up at the Main Street Ottumwa Office at 334 E Main Street, Antler Guys at 211 E Second and the Candy Caboose at 226 W Main. Passports are $3. Passport cost offset Main Street's investment in promoting and running the event.
This year, we're excited to launch a virtual passport option. You can access the virtual passport at any pickup location, however a link to purchase virtual passports will be posted on social media the day of the event so you can start anywhere or join a group already underway! Our virtual passport works entirely in your browser and doesn't require downloading any new app. The virtual passport enters you for the same drawings, supports bonus entries and even includes an interactive map to make navigation a breeze!
Speaking of bonus entries, you can earn multiple places in our prize drawings by making purchases at participating businesses! Completing 12 stamps on your passport earns a free entry. However, making a purchase or booking an appointment at any of our participating business partners earns an additional entry!
For anyone that needs a break or would benefit from a ride, we offer a shuttle during the event. Look for shuttle pick-up locations or flag down the VW Minibus for a ride!
Finally, if you're interested in helping to support this event, we can still use volunteers. Volunteer shifts can last only a couple hours and still allow you a chance to participate as well. Volunteers will also receive drawing entries!
