Hi folks! If you are looking for something fun and interesting to do this weekend, take the short drive to Remsen, N.Y. for the annual Barn Festival of the Arts.
For two days, this little town in upstate N.Y transforms into one of the premier arts and craft shows in the country. There are over 200 vendors, so you're sure to find something you like. And food? Yeah, there is all kinds of awesome eats. There is also all kinds of entertainment to keep you...well... entertained!
I will be there with a great selection of awesome cutting boards, cheese slicers, and beautiful shark-hootery boards (charcuterie is hard to spell)😁
The weather forecast looks like two outstanding days. So come on up to Remsen and enjoy! We will be in spots 275-276, so stop by and say Hi!

The Annual Remsen Barn Festival of the Arts will be held September 27-28, 2025; Sat. 10-6; and Sun. 10-5. Admission to the Festival is free and there is plenty of parking. No pets allowed. Remsen's Main Street is closed to vehicles and transformed into a shopping, eating, and entertainment adventure. More than 225 quality artists and crafters offer art, jewelry, textiles, fashion accessories, woodcrafts, soaps, pottery, holiday items, furniture, glass, candles, and more. A variety of food vendors offer everything from hearty meals to sweet snacks.

From its humble beginnings, when the Festival included tours of local barns and handmade quilts, it has become one of the northeast’s premier festivals. Visit the free quilt show and Remsen Art Market at the Remsen Arts Center or at The Remsen Depot find your way through the Corn Maze, Sat. and Sun. from noon to 5. On Sunday at 2:30, all are welcome to the Gymanfa Ganu (Welsh song fest) in the Stone Church on Prospect St.

Fun for the whole family fifteen miles north of Utica, just off Rt 12 in the charming Welsh town of Remsen.

Beware of a Venmo scam
Guy messaged me to buy one of my boards. Said he would send venmo .. I prefer Paypal, but he was adamant
Then I get an email from "Venmo Pay" which is wierd because usually it's title "Venmo" when I get emails from venmo. It says he has to send $500.00 more to upgrade my personal account to a business account. He tells me in messenger he accidentally sent it as a business payment and that's why. So then he says I just need to refund him the extra $500.
So I tell the guy I think it's a scam. He tries calling me on messenger to argue that I need to send it now. Then I notice the email address is a Gmail account setup to look like venmo.
They're getting more creative. Don't fall for it.

I started a batch of stacked cube (Q bert) pattern cutting boards today. First step, cut some wood and glue some panels together. And before you ask, NO, I don't have enough clamps !🤣😂

Hi folks! I has a sudden run on my piano boards, so I made some more!
I have 2 made with cherry, and three made with sapele mahogany. For accents on these boards, I used some padauk, and white wenge in a ribbon pattern. As you can see in the close up, the grain of the white wenge is absolutely beautiful.
The cherry boards measure 17 1/2 x 12 1/2, and the mahogany boards are 16 1/4 x 12 1/4. They are all 1 1/2 inch thick.

On behalf of myself and our family, I want to thank you all from the bottom of our broken hearts for the outpouring of love and support after the passing of our Mom. Although I affectionately called her Mother Dear, Mary was not my mother. However, she was my Mom in every sense of the word.. She was a strong willed woman who took two boys of hers, two boys of Dad's, added two boys of their own and made a loving family. She never, ever gave up on her family, or herself, and, God bless her, fought right up to the end. She will be missed deeply by all who knew her, and will always reside in my heart along with Pops.
Rest In Peace, Mother Dear.
