Anyone have a suggestion on how to remove a rusted kitchen sink lock ring?

I have tried a hammer, a drimmal and even a drill bit (don’t think I have the right bit). Oh, and I tried WD-40 and penetrating spray and this thing doesn’t want to come off.

Help, I really want to install our new faucet instead of returning it since I can’t get the old one off.
