Cᴇʀɴᴜɴɴᴏs - The name appears only once, a fragment on a Roman pillar in France. The ‘C’ is missing now, but 18th century drawings show it once existed there. The very name likely means ‘horned’.

Sacred to my Celtic ancestors, the images of the horned one meld with the lore of my Saxon ancestors. Sometimes he is the lord of the hunt, like Woden, sometimes the lord of the wights like Freyr (who gave away his sword to fight with antlers). His Roman, Celtic and Saxon influences have often led me down a confusing, syncretic path. Yet, to know the Old Ones, isn’t to learn them from books, but to feel them when in solitude, and then recognize them when they are seen.

Oh, Horned God of Albion, I see you and am awakened.
