It's been a while since we've posted as much of our time and energy has just been to get stone in and to get stone out.
In the mean time, we've created beautiful tributes to honor loved ones all over Central Florida.
Managing the pandemic has had its trials.
With over 90,000+ deaths in a short amount of time is a lot to absorb for everyone.
Supply and Demand- Port Closures, Employee Shortages. It seems as though we are through the worst and things are starting to flow a little better.
In a recent conversation with a supplier- she stated they are still 6-8 mos out. Not including the delays of trucks running and the increase costs of fuel. She estimates that it will be another year till they are fully running back to a "normal schedule".
So while some folks say..."I'm so tired of hearing everything blamed on covid!" "It's been over!" The truth is the wave created fromed is in motion and continues to push us in directions we've never had to swim before.
We are getting there. And going from 300-400 stones a year with 3-5 complaints. Usually manageable to now accounting for time and delays can be frustrating to everyone. I know what it does to us and hear what it does to families. Each time I have to report delays is tense and heart breaking. Thank you for being patient.
There are a group of companies that we have connected to and share many of the same stories. It somewhat brings relief to me to know we are not the only one. From material delays, equipment failure and shortage on staff- we network to see who has what and what we can help with. So forming these friendships had been healing to us as well.
Waiting on another round to arrive which was supposed to arrive late July/beginning August, and then it's insane go time again. But in this short time before we open today, I'm taking a breather- a mental pause to say....I'm grateful for today. We've produced beautiful works of arts in this chaos and hope they bring closure as we receive them piece by peace.
