Happy Sunday everybody, we wanted to share a story that recently happened in our community to showcase how the act of kindness from everyone can truly make people feel loved and seen. 💙🫶

One of our homeless customers had been wanting a bicycle cart he had found in our store and had been saving up for it for over a month. After speaking with Ashley, he told her he was able to give $35 for it & Ashley agreed to take it. He had left the store to get the money but didn’t arrive until after closing.

Luckily Ashley was till there and saw he was holding Garden Decorations of Sunflowers, Butterflies, and Ladybugs for Ashley’s daughter who was wanting to start a garden–with tears and the little money he had, he wanted to do something kind for Ashley and her family to show his appreciation just from Ashley showing him love and kindness.

The manager, Alvin, was blown away by this man’s kindness in realizing how the most loving and amazing people that might not have a much, are so appreciative. We wanted to share this story to show how just a little bit of kindness can be so impactful in people’s lives. We are so grateful to be a part of this community, for the kindness we receive and hope to be able to give it back, just as he did. 🦋🌻🐞

A special shoutout to our staff here at The Russell Home Thrift Store who are helping to make positive impacts within our Orlando community on a day to day basis. 🍊🧡✨
