Thanks to Cindy for helping me set up the tent and emptying the storage space and filling up the tent. Thanks to Rebecca for helping sort out stuff and take down the tent and putting stuff back into storage in the pouring rain when our building management told me they’re starting to repaint the complex starting with our row today. (Did they actually start? No.) I hope to put the tent back up Friday night to set up for Saturday and Sunday.

We moved in fog machines, lighting, string lights, some A/V stuff, bulbs, reference books inside the shop. The tent will be housing some of our furniture pieces and bigger props. And if Alan is with me in this weekend, I’ll be able to take people into the storage space where we have more stuff.

It’s 5:18am and back in the ER with Alan. And we made a couple of decisions.

The good news: we are delaying our closing to late July. Given Alan’s state, we need a little more time to go through our storage unit behind the shop.

Bad news: We are also delaying our Thank You Party with either July 11, 18, or 25. We’ll let you know in the next day or two.

Thank you in advance for your patience, understanding, and support.

In the meantime, we’re still trying to burn up opened product while we have the space and working oven.

When, during running foam latex, the mixer you were using dies, and you have to immediately switch to the other one.

We are trying to use up open product so it’s not wasted.

And our oven is on its last legs. But in the meanwhile, cranking out as many grinch faces (now down to one mold) and who noses, and other stuff as fast as I can.

Coming soon: a pair of Krampus hands, and our Creature gloves.

Our closing party FAQ:

Saturday, 6/20, from 5pm to when the last people leave. Gen Xers tend to tire out by midnight.

All AEO friends, supporters, clients, etc., are welcome to attend. Though this is open to the public, this is a private event.

We will have the basics: water, cola, diet cola, some chips, and cheap beer. With that being said….

Think of this as a potluck.

If there is something you’d like to share: food, drink, adult beverages, we invite you to do so. Some ideas would be: crudite plate, fruit plate, charcuterie (aka cold cuts) plate, cookies, brownies, pizza, chips and dip. Stuff that won’t go bad and won’t need anything more than ice or possibly a microwave. We would normally provide all this, but we just got hit with some unexpected bills that Alan’s Medicaid won’t cover. However this is not a requirement for attendance.

Yes, we will also be selling too, so you’re welcome to buy what strikes your fancy at that time.

Update on hours:

Friday 5/29: 12-4pm
Saturday 5/30: 2-7pm (that way all of those heading home from can stop by!)

Also next Saturday 6/6, Alan will need some help with the storage unit to bring stuff in the shop. DM us if available.

Yes we sold a lot. But we still have more. Then there’s the decor and A/V stuff (give us a week or so to open that up).
A warm felt thank you to all those that came out to spend time with us!
