☀️ Summer Local mode is officially activated!
As you all know, we’ve lightened the lineup and moved our Orlando Local Makers markets indoors for the summer. On our off weekends, we’ve been taking advantage of the extra time to explore the area and check out new local spots popping up around us.
This past weekend I wandered around one of my favorite areas — Thornton Park District. (If you’ve been paying attention, you already know our newest indoor market, The Abbey Pop Social, kicks off there at the end of the month!) I’ll be honest though, I didn’t just wander though… I made a bee line straight to the brand new Jessyca’s Beauty Studio, which I’ve been eyeing from Eola Wine Company for months while waiting for them to open.
I’ve always wanted to try a Russian manicure, and when I saw the signage advertising low-tox and fume-free, my allergies basically booked the appointment for me 😂
First impression? Moody speakeasy meets high-design living room, complete with a beautiful gallery wall of paintings. (Lake Eola regulars, you’ll love spotting the fun swan painting 🦢)
Jessyca and her team were amazing — super welcoming just like neighbors which made the whole experience feel effortless.
Since it had been a while (we won’t mention exactly how long since my last mani), I went all in — manicure, pedicure, and facial ALL. AT. THE. SAME. TIME! Total game changer. I’ve always been a basic pink nail girl, but I’m officially converted to the Russian manicure life… and the nail art skills around me might convert me even further.
Save the date for our first Abbey Pop Social on Sunday, June 28 from 10 AM–2 PM! While you’re out exploring Thornton Park District, be sure to stop in and check out Jessyca’s.
