I can finally drop the big news! Do you remember my post about 170 sweatshirts and almost 2500 pounds of ice?! Our big project was for the Kelly Clarkson show!! Whaaat?? Yes!!! Kelly freaking Clarkson!!

How did this happen you ask? Well let me tell you ... A previous customer contacted me one evening telling me how much she absolutely loved her reverse tie-dye hoodie, she wore it to work multiple times and her boss loved it so much that he wanted to know if we could make a bulk order of 150 or so. I immediately thought NO - we cannot handle that, Sharlie on the other hand, was an immediate YES, we’re doing it! At this point I had no idea who it was for, she mentioned wanting a logo on it and said she would send the logo over ... when I got the logo I was like ... Whaa?? Nooo way! Kelly Clarkson?? THE Kelly Clarkson?!? Yes!! Yes!! We can do it!! We can totally do 170 iced dyed hoodies in seven days.. sure!!!

The next day I was on the phone with one of the decision-makers for the show. They wanted samples overnighted, and if it were a go, they needed product in hand within a week and a half. We had no idea how many 170 sweatshirts would really be, we were burning the candle at both ends every night - Ordering product, ordering dye - figuring out how we could ice dye 170 sweatshirts in about 7 days ( it’s a 24 hour process to dye one sweatshirt) The people at Publix thought we were crazy when we continued to go in night after night to purchase sixteen 20 lbs pound bags of ice. Thankfully we were not responsible for the logo, once we shipped the sweatshirts, NBC has a printing company they use to screen print the logo on.

The Kelly Clarkson Show wrapped up its second season this past Friday. I’m assuming the staff and crew had a party afterwards and they were all given a hoodie. Fingers crossed I get a photo of Kelly in hers. The Kelly Clarkson Show
