Do you know the difference between a cassette and a freewheel? Is sag something other than a way to wear pants? Can you use “compact” and “disc” in a sentence without referring to something that goes in a Walkman? Are your hands calibrated to 5NM?
If you answered yes to these questions (except the last one - real mechanics use torque wrenches) you may be a good fit for our team.
We are looking for a mechanic with experience to provide top notch service to our customers and their bikes. You’ll walk our customers through the bike check-in process, noting their concerns and communicating potential issues you find with their bikes. Communication and problem solving skills will complement your mechanical aptitude to help you succeed in this role.
Part and full time positions available.

Position Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair issues with customer and shop bikes
Communicate with customers and other mechanics
Write service tickets with appropriate estimates of time and cost
Build Bikes of all types and levels
Submit warranty claims

Position Qualifications
Experience building and tuning a wide variety of bikes
Familiarity with Shimano and Sram, mechanical and electronic, road and mountain components

Social Distancing
Armpit Hair Growing Contest

Start date: March 30, - April 6, 2020
End date: To the end of the pandemic
(We know this is vague, but we will give you at least a week’s notice)
Rules:
1) You must shave your armpit hair between March 30 and April 6.
2) You must be a woman.
3) Take a picture (you don’t need to share it, but you can).
4) You can’t shave it again until the contest is over.
5) You don’t have to grow hair in both armpits to enter the contest.
How to Win
1) The longest hair will win a $200 gift certificate to sOciety.
a. You will need to send a picture of your armpit hair being measured.
b. The top 5 people with the longest hair will be measured in our shop using our digital caliper.
c. In the case of a tie the prize will be split.
2) If you go the whole length of the contest without shaving your armpit your name will be entered into a drawing with all the participants of the Beard Growing Contest to win a $300 gift certificate.
a. This will be on an honor code system
b. You just need to shave sometime during the week of Mar 30 – April 6, go without shaving for the length of the contest, then let us know sometime during the final week that you did not shave for the whole length of the contest.
c. You can post it on our page, call the shop or come into the shop and you will be included in the drawing.
