Aaand that's a wrap on tulips season here...🌷😭
It's so sad to see them all blown open and their tiny blooms damaged.
Thankful for a hoop house and plastic going on this spring so we don't have this issue again!

Let's talk about MILKWEED! 🌱

Spruce Lane Flower Co. is officially registered as a Monarch WayStation and we will have milkweed (swamp & common) available for you to add to your landscape or gardens!

Fun little note about germinating and growing milkweed: it takes significant stratification and time to germinate. These trays have been germinating for 8 weeks and every day we get a new one popping through! I've never worked with seed that germinates on such a spread out timeline!

All the milkweed seed was cultivated and grown right here!

Good afternoon!
Winter is time for reflection and planning in the flower business.
It has given me lots of time to wonder where my future with my little flower farm will take me.
I have learned so much in the last 2 years and it only makes me more excited for the future.
Last summer I discovered my true passion was in the growing process. Taking seeds and little plants and creating rows and rows of beautiful blooms. It has allowed me to work with some amazing local florists and I have decided that is where my focus is going to continue to be.
I felt it was necessary, as my little hobby grew into a tiny business, a name change was necessary, as I wanted to be authentic in what I am putting out. Since we don't grow exclusively wildflowers and didn't want to give that impression, our name has changed from Hilltop Wildflowers to Spruce Lane Flower Co!
We will continue to focus on growing beautiful dahlias, peonies, sunflowers, zinnias, and other favorites.
I will also have native plants and perennials available for those of you who want to add to your own personal garden.
Special event corsages and boutonnieres will continue to available through special order, and if you need a bouquet or arrangement don't be afraid to reach out and ask. If I can't help you I can point you in the direction of one of the amazing florists we have in this community!
