Silence enables abuse. It’s that simple. How far will this message go? How many have the courage to share this?

When we can’t or won’t talk about evil, it gives it the air to breathe. Our voice must be louder than the silence that has allowed these perpetrators to prey upon children for far too long.

It’s on each of us to Rock the Talk and turn the tables around. These children need us.

Please consider giving to this very worthy cause. The Mama Bear Effect has made huge changes to Bringing child abuse prevention education to everyone.

5 years ago I decided to face my fears, my past and jump into my purpose in life with every fiber of my being.

I’ve lost friends but I’ve found souls. I’ve invested so much time, money, lost sleep, and pulled as many family and friends into volunteering.

Sometimes I want to run away and live a boring selfish life, I feel like a failure, an inconvenience.

Sometimes I feel like I’m making a difference and fulfilling a need that this world so sorely lacks.

I’m still afraid. But somehow I keep going. I know it’s the right thing to do, and when people share their stories with me, although part of my heart breaks, I vow to fill those voids with hard work so that their suffering is not in vain but that it was used to help motivate me to keep going.

Today I’m on another mission to be a pain in everyone’s butt. To try to win $20,000 from the Newman’s Own Foundation.

If we can get the most people to support The Mama Bear Effect today (specifically today New Years Eve) we will win $10k; if we can solicit the most donations (as in total dollars) we will win another $10k.

So here I am asking for your hard earned money to help us raise awareness and educate people to protect children from sexual abuse.

I know there are many worthy causes out there but I cannot think of one that is more worthy that protecting children.

If you can make a donation, know that I am humbled by your support and am committed to putting it to use to empower as many children and families as possible.

All of our information is free on our website but we also donate printed materials, create videos, and work on various awareness campaigns so people will know why this issue needs their attention.

Every day is a day to spread awareness of for me, but with the passing of yesterday who was a himself I will remind everyone that they can help. And to those who are struggling, you are not alone! boys and girls become sexually abused before 18. themamabeareffect.org offers education information on sparksofhope.org has healing camps that are helping child abuse survivors and 1in6.org offers online support to male survivors for free! When a child discloses abuse, often times all that follows is silence. When I started my goal was for survivors of abuse to know they are not alone. Someone hears you. Someone believes you. You are This letter was sent to me by a survivor who received a with the help of a couple of years ago. This sweet reminder was brought back to my attention a couple of days ago.
