TOO SOON?? BE PREPARED!
You might not be thinking about snow right now, but it's coming! And the old motto BE PREPARED never gets old when it comes to snowblowers. Did you prepare your snowblower before storing it at the end of last winter?

If not, now is the time to get it checked, tuned up and ready to go. If you did prepare it, be sure to check that it's running smoothly rather than waiting for the first flakes to fall.

I'm here most times, seven days a week. If I am out running an errand, leave your machine by the basement door with a tag on it including your name and number and I will get back to you. Turn around service is quick if I don't need to order parts. I have 50 years of experience, and I'm easy to get to at 57 Onset Ave.

I repair generators. Make sure you start yours regularly, and always use non-ethanol fuel available at auto parts and big box stores for inverters. For standard generators, regular gas plus fuel stabilizer is ok.

Inverter generator ratings from Consumer Reports.

BE PREPARED!!
Time to check your generator to make sure it is running properly. It's starting to look like we are going to have a serious hurricane season this year.

Start your generator and plug a small appliance into it to make sure it is working properly. Don't wait to the last minute to see if it's working. If it can be fixed, I will fix it!

DAVE'S LAWNMOWER TIPS
Fuel issues are the major cause of lawnmower problems. If your mower starts, but then stalls out, your mower may have fuel system issues.

Fuel should always be fresh and clean in order for your machine to run properly. Before buying fuel, check to make sure your fuel can is clean and free of all debris. Buy only small quantities of gasoline--one gallon or less--as it goes stale in about 3 weeks. Never use old or last year's gas.

The ethanol added to automobile gas is harmful to lawn mower carburetors. Ethanol absorbs water v***r from the atmosphere and collects in your gas can and/or in the carburetor bowl. If water has rusted the interior of the carburetor bowl, it may need to be replaced. Consequently, your mower will run better and your carburetor will be better protected if you always add stabilizer to your gas can prior to putting the gas into the lawnmower (I use Stabil).

At the end of the mowing season, I recommend running the machine out of fuel. Then add a quart of NON-ETHANOL fuel (available at autoparts or big box stores) to the tank and run the machine for 5 minutes. This will help prevent fuel system problems next season.
