🎗️ Today, We Remember: Honoring Our Fallen Heroes 🎗️

With Memorial Day here, I wanted to share a gentle reminder about what today truly means to the military community. I’m always incredibly grateful for the kind hearts of friends who thank me for my service, but today is actually a day where we shift the focus away from those of us who came home.

While Veterans Day is for celebrating all who served, Memorial Day is a sacred day dedicated entirely to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s for the brave men and women who gave up all their tomorrows so that we could enjoy our todays.

For those of us who wore the uniform, today carries a quiet, personal weight.
My heart and thoughts are heavily with the friends I served alongside who never made it back. Specifically, I am sharing these photos today to honor the memories of two incredible women:

🇺🇸SSG Amy S. Krueger: A proud Wisconsin native who stepped up and enlisted right after 9/11. She had just arrived at Fort Hood ahead of her deployment to Afghanistan when she was tragically taken from us in the mass shooting on November 5, 2009. She was a fighter with a huge smile who wanted nothing more than to serve her country.

🇺🇸Spc. Rachel Lacy: A dedicated soldier who passed away on April 4, 2003. In preparation for deployment, she received her required pre-deployment vaccinations, completely unaware that she had an underlying, undiagnosed condition called lupus. The reaction triggered a severe illness, and she made the ultimate sacrifice before she ever had the chance to deploy.

Their laughter, their bravery, and their dedication to this country will never be forgotten. They aren't just names on a monument, they are our sisters-in-arms, our friends, and our heroes.

To every veteran and family member missing someone irreplaceable today: I see you, I honor your loved ones, and I remember with you.

As you enjoy the day with your families, please join me in taking a quiet moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the immense price that was paid for our freedom.

Tomorrow morning is a huge milestone in our house! My 10-year-old son, Wesley, made the cut and is performing a custom GarageBand track in the elementary school talent show! 🎶 He creates his songs completely by ear and rocks out to the beat on the big screen, so you know I had to celebrate his big debut with a custom piece!
