After 34 years, Personal Threads Boutique is closing its doors.
The time has come for Joe to enjoy retirement. (At long last!)

For over three decades, Personal Threads has been more than a yarn store.

It’s been a home for creativity, connection, and color. Whether you were popping in for one skein, sitting down for class, or needing a little bit of help (or a lot!) with your project, you helped make this shop what it is: a true fiber family.

It’s hard to put pen to paper and describe with mere words what this place has meant—not only to us, but to the entire community of makers who’ve walked through our doors, one project at a time.

It’s feels strange to imagine the finale of this little community, but it’s time to say goodbye to this chapter.

And, even though the doors are closing, we
look forward to communing with you in other ways and in other places.

We’ll share more details soon about our timeline and how we plan to wind things down, but for now, we want to say thank you.

Thank you for your loyalty.

Thank you for your warmth.

Thank you for growing this space with us.

We are so deeply grateful.

With love,

Joe and the PTB crew

P.S. This does NOT effect Lewis Art Gallery. Julie and her employees will continue to be here to serve you in all your framing and art needs!

Meredith’s at it again!

This time she’s creating the out of two summer-perfect fibers!

Using one ball of Sonata and one ball of Iridescence, this cowl is going to be cotton-cloud soft.

And with that addition of silk in both yarns, it has the most gorgeous shimmer!

Truly iridescent!

Stop by and check out both of these yarns today!

Knit out of Huasco Coton Glisten, this fi*****ng weight cotton has just the slightest hint of sparkle!

She used the pattern - Micah’s Raglan Tee.

It’s a top-down tee with the most delicate cable detail. (A great first cable project!)

Excellent work, Hayley!!

Play with color this spring!

We are in love with Saiun, a new yarn from

Meredith grabbed two balls and first knit up the by

She had half of each ball left over! So she decided to grab a solid color to pair with each and made 2 more cowls!

Grid Gambit and Filoli Cowl are so much fun!

If you’re looking to explore color work but aren’t sure where to start, any of these 3 would be an excellent option!

And the color changes of the Saiun keep you excited to see what comes off the ball next!

Say hello to the Dustland Skinny Scarf!

Jeremy whipped this up recently using the scrumptious Vintage DK.

This scarfette is the perfect quick knit! Wear it over the shoulders or tied in a cute kerchief style.

The instructions are easy to follow with simple knits and purls. (We promise it’s way easier than it looks!)

It makes the perfect gift knit, too!

Meredith finished The Shift Cowl recently using our brand new Gabe Saiun!

This DK weight yarn is a blend of 70% wool / 30% nylon, which makes it delightful and delicious!

Using just two colors, this simple slip stitch pattern really wows with how the colors come together! She used colors 1 and 11.

And because there are almost 500 yds (!!!) per ball, you have enough to make 2 cowls!

Check out this gorgeous yarn today!
