We wanted to give an Orlando update. The old guy has been having some health issues. He has a team of vets (including a naturpath!) so the king is being well cared for. Might even see a chiropractor Friday.

He is still playing and eating like a champ so the fire for life is fierce! All that said, he recently hit a marked decline in health so we wanted to let his adoring fans know to send him some good vibes.

Old age is rough but he's a champion.

Join us in March on Friday the 13th as we celebrate the book launch of former Orca Books Cooperative worker, Clare Follman.

Scapegoat: What the Invasive Species Story Wrong (AK Press) is a fresh and thoughtful rethinking of how we see the plants among us.

Clare Follman is a writer, activist, and gardener with master's in environmental science whose work engages themes of landscape, ecology, climate crisis, language, and philosophy.

There will be a short reading followed by time for questions. Wine and light snacks will be provided.

Author Megan Milks is coming to the store to talk about their new collection of essays, MEGA MILK! Published by the Feminist Press, this collection of essays runs the gamut from funny and a little gross to informative and intimate and poignant. It’s a ride to read; I laughed, I learned, I questioned my relationship with dairy and my mom. We are pumped to get to talk about it more! More details on our website event page. Local authors Miranda Mellis and Sako Chapman will read from their works as well, which are also available in the store or online!
