🍅🌱 Week 9 Raised Bed Challenge Update! 🌱🍅

This week brought another challenge for our Miracle-Gro raised bed.

Last week, we identified and began treating early blight. This week, we found blossom end rot developing on several heirloom tomatoes. After investigating, we discovered an irrigation issue that caused inconsistent watering, which can prevent plants from properly taking up calcium and lead to blossom end rot.

What’s interesting is that while both beds experienced the same growing conditions, the Coast of Maine Raised Bed Mix continues to outperform, producing healthier plants with no signs of early blight or blossom end rot.

Throughout this trial, we’ve seen the Coast of Maine bed maintain stronger growth, better plant vigor, and overall healthier tomatoes. Healthy soil creates a stronger foundation for plants, helping them better handle environmental stresses and recover from challenges that arise during the growing season.

Gardening is never perfect, and that’s exactly why we’re doing this test. We want to share real-world results—the successes and the setbacks.

As we head into Week 10, Coast of Maine continues to lead the challenge and produce some of the healthiest plants in our garden.

🍅 Week 8 Update & First Taste Test! 🌱

The results keep getting more interesting!

This week, we did our very first taste test, so make sure you watch all the way to the end of the video to see what we thought. 👀🍅

As for plant performance, Coast of Maine continues to stand out. The plants are fuller, healthier, and still carrying a noticeable lead in overall production and appearance.

We’re not saying the final winner has been decided yet, but Coast of Maine is making a very strong case for itself! 💪
