There’s something deeply satisfying about making medicine from the plants growing around us.

This first-aid infusion is a simple blend of yarrow and plantain - two humble herbs that may already be growing in your yard - infused in olive oil and finished with a touch of lavender. Yarrow has a long history of use for minor cuts and scrapes, while plantain is often treasured by herbalists for soothing irritated skin. Together they create a beautiful golden infusion that feels like a little bit of wild wisdom captured in a bottle.
I’m continually amazed by how much abundance surrounds us when we learn to recognize it.
A heartfelt thank you to Kara Jo for teaching me this process and sharing her knowledge of these everyday plants. Every time I make an infusion like this, I’m reminded that learning traditional skills is just as valuable as creating something beautiful.
Have you ever used plantain or yarrow in your herbal preparations?

This Memorial Day weekend, the sky paused long enough to put on a show.

Above the garden, a band of rainbow color stretched across the clouds- a reminder that even on days of remembrance, there is beauty, wonder, and light. While gathering with family and friends, we also pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice allows us the freedom to enjoy simple moments like this one: sunshine on the grass, time with loved ones, and eyes lifted toward the sky.

I built this fence out of freshly cut pear tree branches- no nails, no store-bought materials, just what was already here.
And look! It’s alive.
New leaves are popping out, rooting itself right into the soil.
A living fence.
A living garden.
• Sustainable, beautiful, and full of life.

There’s something quietly magical about harvesting food you’ve grown yourself… and realizing you’re sharing the moment with another living thing. 🐝🥬
While picking lettuce today, I looked down and found this tiny visitor tucked into the leaves beside me- still, curious, and completely at home in the garden. A gentle reminder that a thriving garden is never ours alone. It belongs to the bees, the breeze, the soil, and every small creature finding refuge there.
These are the moments that make growing things feel sacred. ✨

I spent the day wandering through Bloom Farm in Oley and left feeling deeply inspired. Between the stone buildings, winding streams, greenhouse gardens, buzzing bee hives, fluffy alpacas, tiny chicks under warm lights, and the incredible ANNA cabin tucked into the landscape, every corner felt thoughtful and alive.
What I loved most was the feeling that nature, education, design, and stewardship were all woven together so intentionally. It’s the kind of place that reminds you to slow down, observe closely, and imagine what’s possible when beauty and sustainability coexist.
The architecture alone was stunning-historic Pennsylvania stonework beside modern ecological design- but the gardens and preserves made it feel truly grounded in the land. Something special is happening here.
If you’re anywhere near Oley, this place is absolutely worth visiting. I already know I’ll be thinking about the greenhouse, the meadows, and that cabin for a long time. 🌿✨

There’s something hopeful about planting berry bushes.
Today we added goji berries to the garden -tucked among the raspberries, pollinator flowers, and spring green.
I’m slowly shaping this space into a little productive sanctuary: fruit, flowers, bees, birds, and things made by hand. The salvias are going in next, bringing even more color and pollinators into the mix.
Goji berries are said to thrive with sunshine, resilience, and time… which feels like a good philosophy for life too. 🌿✨

Mother’s Day is here 🌿

For the mothers, grandmothers, mentors, and nurturing souls (including dog and cat moms) who make life softer, steadier, and more beautiful - this weekend is for celebrating them.

The studio is filled with handcrafted jewelry, meaningful gifts, and one-of-a-kind pieces made to be treasured for years to come. Whether you’re looking for something delicate and botanical, earthy and soulful, or a little bit luxurious, I’d love to help you find the perfect gift.

A quiet evening in the studio, string, driftwood, warm tea, and the slow rhythm of making by hand. ✨
Last week’s macramé class at Craft Foundry was all about texture, patience, and creativity. We learned how to create feather-style wall hangings using soft cotton cord, natural branches, and simple knotting techniques — then shaped and trimmed each piece into something completely unique. I love how every student’s work reflects their own style, even when we begin with the same materials.
There’s something deeply calming about working with fiber: combing the strands, shaping the feathers, and watching a simple bundle of cord transform into art. And of course, studio assistant approval from our very observant golden retriever was essential. 🐾
These small gatherings are becoming some of my favorite moments in the studio.
Interested in joining a future workshop? I’ll be offering more macramé, bookbinding, jewelry, and paper arts classes soon at Craft Foundry in Oley, PA.
