What a night. What a cause. What a community.

We were honored to be part of BELLA NOTTE, the annual fundraising celebration hosted by High Hopes Therapeutic Riding, Inc., where generosity, joy, and purpose filled every corner of the evening.

From the stunning setting to the heartfelt mission, every detail came together beautifully. Guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening of philanthropy, conversation, dancing, and incredible cuisine prepared by the talented team at Coffee's Country Market, whose exceptional food helped make the night truly special.

We're delighted to share this video from our own Jaymie Diane, capturing some of the magic, elegance, and meaningful moments that made BELLA NOTTE such a memorable event.

If your hydrangea is full of leaves but missing those big, show-stopping Mark Comstock-style blooms, pruning could be the reason.

Some hydrangeas bloom on “old wood,” which means next year’s flowers are already starting to form long before spring arrives. Cutting them back too hard at the wrong time can accidentally remove the blooms before they ever have a chance. A little patience - and the right pruning - makes all the difference when it comes to those massive coastal garden hydrangeas everyone stops to admire.

Hydrangeas can be a little dramatic during a Connecticut heat wave - especially in the middle of the afternoon. Don’t panic if they start drooping in the sun.
If they perk back up by evening, they’re usually just trying to conserve moisture. But if they still look wilted the next morning, it’s time for a long, deep watering at the base.
One of the best things you can do this time of year is water early in the morning before the day heats up. Your hydrangeas will thank you for it.

Preparing members plants for the Duck River Garden Club annual plant sale in Old Lyme, Connecticut May 8 and May 9 at the Lyme Art Association on the corner of Boston Post Road and Halls Rd.
Every year we open our Nursery to the club to come over and pot up the members plants.
