We offer upcycled, re-purposed vintage items, original and P86 Fiesta, McCoy, Shawnee, quilts, custom furniture, Man Cave items, etc. Schelert & Co evolved from our original name, Schelert House Antiques, when we first began selling antiques at The Brass Armadillo in Oak Grove, Missouri in 2015. The folks out there were really nice, and the foot traffic was amazing, but the drive to re-stock was g
etting old...fast so we decided to look for an antique mall closer. In summer of 2018, we had the good fortune to walk into Sentimental Journey Marketplace (SJMP) in Olathe, Kansas and met Tracey Terrell, the owner. She was the new owner of SJMP and was in the throes of updating each and every booth space, flooring, restrooms, etc. We started out with a single booth that is located along the store front on the southern end. We built a barnwood type store front for ourselves, painted and tidied up and began selling antiques, vintage, collectable, and re-purposed items such as lamps, radio-flier shelves, corner door bookcases and much more. We meet so many wonderful people during 2018. As SJMP grew, old vendors retired, new vendors were ramping up and stepping up their booth decor and goods at a fast and furious pace, and SJMP staff grew to Tracey getting folks to step in and help her with the front desk and help running the growing operation. To that end, she asked us if we'd be interested in or consider renting another booth space from her...one closer to the new front desk location. We didn't think, we just reacted with "Heck YES!" we'd love to get another booth! We could now offer "man cave" type items in our original booth and then focus on what we'd considered a more traditional type of antique/vintage goodies. So, with our second booth located on the right aisle of the front desk and the second booth on the left, we were off to get this space set up and ready for sales. Not a problem, because we had so much stock (we like shopping for fun goodies to offer). We were trucking along just fine, but noticed some of the new vendors really had some cool booth spaces, not just three wall spaces that were "vanilla". Nothing wrong with vanilla, but we needed some sprinkles or something...
We painted, added a custom, three stain shelf up high and added vintage corrugated (ribbed) metal to the space. Needless to say, we have gotten some amazing positive responses to the new look! Both booth spaces offer a large variety of Fiestaware (vintage-current); 1940-1950's Shawnee and McCoy cookie jars and planters, black Americana table cloths, print items, salt and pepper, cookie jars, etc.; PYREX and Corning Ware baking/cooking items, hand stitched quilts, and much more. Fast forward to 2025 and we have added another booth at a new location! While the Lone Elm has been around for a long time, it had been purchased by one of the vendor, Ann VonBehrens, that had been at SJMP!!! We decided to add a booth at Lone Elm!!! This booth is the second booth down from the front desk along the store front). We are trying to mix up each of our booths spaces between SJMP and Lone Elm to offer even more custom/re-purposed wood projects, and more smalls in a greater variety.
2026 is almost to the halfway point and we have been committed to doing as many Outdoor Markets at SJMP as possible and will be offering "Pop-Ups" at our Linwood, Kansas Shop that will be announced periodically.
