This isn’t a post I wanted to make, and I’ve gone back and forth all day on how to say it.

Earlier today, a huge part of our business was shut down—just like that. We got an email from corporate saying The Painted Tree is closing for good, and we have about a week to get everything out.

We’re based in Kansas, but we had spaces in Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma (2), North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. That’s a big hit for a small business like ours.

Do we have a plan? Yes… and no. We know what needs to be done, but we need a little time to get everything lined up.

What I can tell you is this—we’re not going anywhere. Not even close. We’ll keep bringing you the same custom gear and products you’ve come to expect.

For now, the easiest way to order is to reach out directly or hop on our website and grab what you need.

You can also still find us at Queen Bee Boutiques & The Vintage Bee in Blue Springs, Maxi Laine’s Boutique in Olathe and (SURPRISE!!!) a brand new Boutique in Joplin, MO that just opened TODAY - Unique Boutiques Joplin!

We’ll figure this out like we always do—maybe with a little less sleep and a lot more caffeine.

And if nothing else, at least now we don’t have to fold quite as many t-shirts… silver linings, right?

Memorial Day | Honoring the Brave

Today, at Board & Block Co., we pause to honor the true meaning of Memorial Day.

It’s more than a long weekend or the start of summer—it’s a day of remembrance for the courageous men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedom to gather with loved ones, build businesses, and chase dreams.

Today, we’re reminded that freedom is built on the shoulders of heroes. We are deeply grateful, and we try and honor them with humility and pride.

To all Gold Star families and veterans, we thank you. Your loved ones are never forgotten.
