Somewhere along the way, I realized how many summers I’ve spent worrying about what my body looked like instead of being grateful for what it lets me do.

I’ve gained weight. I’ve lost weight. My body has changed a hundred times. And for years there was always another goal before I was “allowed” to feel confident.

Not anymore.

I’m 46. I have wrinkles. Rolls. Cellulite. Parts I love and parts I’m still learning to love. And I’m still putting on the swimsuit and getting in the pool.

Because I don’t want to look back someday and realize I spent my life waiting to be smaller.

Take the picture. Get in the pool. Wear the swimsuit.
