We had such a great evening with author Sarah Damoff last week. Complete with a VIP dinner before the main event, we were honored to be the first tour stop to launch her new book The Burning Side. Sarah is thoughtful, personable, and humble. If you have not had a chance to meet her or read her work, may we recommend you going out of your way to make that happen? 🥰

Our next Commonplace Conversation will take place on Wednesday June 3rd, 2026, and will center on the idea of hospitality. Our panel of experts includes general manager of The Ambassador Hotel Jason Clark, OKC Dining Club’s founder Kourtney Turpin, owner and proprietor of The Study, Ian Bennett, as well as D’Ann Crain, a woman who has made hospitality in her home a way of life. Our moderator for the evening is Denzel Akuffo, who has recently launched a new non-profit organization for young professionals here in Oklahoma City, called The Supper Club OKC.

Your ticket price also includes a book on topic. You won’t want to miss this fun and informative evening, so purchase your ticket and reserve your seat today!

When we engage with others over books, an algorithm is not at play. A heartfelt and sincere suggestion or conversation over a book, means a memory is created around that book and that conversation and that other human. (Read more thoughts on this by subscribing to our weekly newsletter.)

The weekend of April 26th we will celebrate Independent Bookstores alongside all our local Oklahoma indie bookstores, and bookstores across the country. We invite you to celebrate and to show your support of slowing down and finding the magic in being human.

Check out the Central Oklahoma Bookstore crawl happening all weekend, April 24, 25, and 26!

Our first puzzle exchange was a huge success! Join us again on Thursday evening, April 9th 7-8:30pm to exhange a puzzle in great condition with all the pieces, for a new-to-you puzzle to take home. Here’s how it works:

Purchase a $5 ticket to reserve your spot, and arrive at Commonplace with one or two puzzles (2 puzzle limit) to offer up for exchange. Your puzzle will receive a number upon entry. Enjoy a fun beverage and a seat at one of our puzzle tables set up especially for the evening.

At 7:30pm, draw a number to determine your place in the choosing queue. (If you bring two puzzles draw two numbers. A 2 and 8 drawn? You get to make your choice 2nd and again 8th in the queue). There will be two rounds of drawing, to help keep the queue fair.

Puzzle, meet new people, shop, and receive an update page on newly releasing books we’re excited about. Most importantly, go home with a new-to-you puzzle (or two!) to enjoy this spring.
