One of our more popular bulk items is our Bulk of the Week—rolled oats! 🌾 We’ve sold over 200 lb of these over the last year.
Rolled oats are between quick oats and steel cut oats—they are processed less than quick, but more then steel cut (which we also carry). Basically, rolled oats are oat groats that are steamed and flattened.
To make oatmeal, add 1 part oats to 2 parts water or milk to a pot, bring to a boil, and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. You can also do the same process in the microwave, cooking for a minute at a time and stirring. Make sure to keep an eye on it—the oats mixture can grow as they cook and boil over! Then add your favorite toppings, like nuts, seeds, fresh or dried fruit, honey, or maple syrup.
Other delicious recipes include homemade granola or bars, no-bake cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, apple crisp, overnight oats, muffins, energy bites, or even as a binder in meatballs or meatloaf.
Our rolled oats are organic and naturally gluten-free, although they are not certified gluten-free, so there’s always a chance of cross-contamination, but we can special order gluten-free too.
When it comes to nutrition, rolled oats are known to be heart-healthy, help manage blood sugar, improve digestion, and keep you feeling full longer.
