🐔Farm Fact: Chickens don’t have sweat glands. Instead, chickens rely on their combs and wattles to regulate body temperature during the summer months. Because the comb is an external appendage, it remains cooler than the rest of the bird’s body. As blood circulates through the comb, it cools before returning to the core, helping the chicken maintain a stable internal temperature.

While their combs do a lot of the heavy lifting, your flock still needs a hand when the temperature spikes. If you see your chickens panting or holding their wings away from their bodies, their built-in AC is working overtime.

Make sure they have access to plenty of deep shade and fresh water. Head to your local IFA Country Store to stock up on poultry electrolytes and waterers to keep your girls happy and healthy all summer long!

Did you know that feeding your lawn in the summer can actually help it CONSERVE water?

When temperatures rise, your grass needs the right defense mechanism to beat the heat. Applying IFA’s Step 3 Spring & Summer Lawn Food does exactly that:

1️⃣ Boosts Drought Resistance: Higher amounts of phosphorus and potassium stimulate deep, healthy root growth so your grass can maximize water absorption.
2️⃣ Promotes Water Efficiency: Essential micronutrients help the grass optimize how it uses water, keeping it green during high-stress periods.
3️⃣ Prevents Water Runoff: Pairing your fertilizer with a soil-wetting agent like Revive helps moisture pe*****te hard, compacted summer soil instead of just running off.

Give your lawn the tools it needs to stay green using less water!

We are grateful for the opportunity to pause and remember the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy today from the wide-open fields of our ranches to the quiet corners of our backyards.

At IFA, we are deeply grateful for the heroes who served and the families who carry their legacy forward. We wish our entire IFA community a safe and meaningful holiday as we honor the fallen together.
