The Social Media Affect
Listen up ladies, social media can be a great place. You can find people with similar interests, form friendships across the globe, find love, access all types of information, shop and find inspiration.
There’s also a dark side to social media. A side that forces you into the idea of who you should be and how your life should look as a woman.
There are multiple studies that link depression, anxiety, fear of missing out, loneliness, sleep deprivation, stress and so much more to the use of social media.
Social media is tricky, google relationships and now your timeline is flooded with “the perfect relationship advice”, telling you how a relationship should be based on someone else’s idea which can cause confusion and unrealistic expectations in yours.
Protect your peace sis. Understand the majority of people on social media are showing up as a version of themselves they preset to other people that does not represent their daily lives.
So stop the scroll, put the phone down, connect with your loved ones, talk about plans with your family or do an activity that you enjoy.
