Dahlia season 💜

Part of what makes dahlias so special is that we only get them for a little while.

They arrive in the fullness of summer, when the gardens are overflowing and everything feels lush and abundant. And then, before we know it, the season shifts and they’re gone again.

There’s no rushing them. No having them whenever we want them. Just this beautiful little window each year when local growers have colors and shapes that almost don’t seem real.

These are the flowers that remind me to enjoy what is here while it is here.

This arrangement went out today filled with locally grown dahlias in her favorite colors, and putting it together felt like getting to play with little gems of summer💜

Dahlia season is short.
And maybe that’s part of the magic.

Our Potting Bar has been busy lately, and I couldn’t be happier about it.

People have been bringing in thrifted pots they’ve fallen in love with, finding the perfect new pot while they’re here, or simply giving a favorite plant a little more room to grow in a bigger nursery pot we provide. Some enjoy potting their plants themselves with a little guidance from us, while others are happy to let us do the work.

It’s kind of like a spa day for your plant…
